Ripple’s Schwartz joins XRP Ledger Foundation board
The XRP Ledger Foundation appointed Ripple CTO Emeritus David Schwartz as an honorary board member to support the organisation’s technical stewardship efforts during a broader leadership expansion.
The appointment comes as the Foundation formalised operational, engineering and community leadership roles, including naming Brett Mollin executive director, Denis Angell chief technology officer, Rene Huijsen director of operations and Hussein “Vet” Zangana director of community.
“As one of the original architects of the XRP Ledger, David brings deep technical insight and a long-term perspective that will help strengthen the Foundation’s technical stewardship of the ecosystem,”
The XRP Ledger Foundation said.
Schwartz, who helped design the XRP Ledger, will provide technical guidance alongside the Foundation’s operational team as it scales ecosystem support and governance initiatives.
Huijsen will oversee financial coordination and operational management after previously working in payment operations at Ripple and contributing to a Bank for International Settlements cross-border payments taskforce.
Zangana will lead community engagement efforts covering validator relations, developer outreach, educational content, ecosystem storytelling and events after previously contributing infrastructure work and amendment proposals within the XRP ecosystem.
“The power of the XRP community has always been its many layers rallying together behind a shared vision, and that’s what we’re here to strengthen and deliver on,”
The Foundation said.
At the time of reporting, XRP price was $1.46.
