Renzo launches on-chain yield product on Hyperliquid
- Renzo Protocol has rebranded as Renzo Finance and launched Renzo Basis on Hyperliquid.
- The product initially supports Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) and Hyperliquid (CRYPTO:HYPE), using spot and perpetual positions to generate funding-rate yield.
- Renzo is moving beyond restaking into automated, self-custodial structured products.
Renzo Protocol has rebranded as Renzo Finance as it expands from restaking into on-chain structured yield products.
Its first product, Renzo Basis, has launched on Hyperliquid and initially supports Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) and Hyperliquid (CRYPTO:HYPE).
“A basis trade earns yield by holding two opposite positions at once,” said Lucas Kozinski, founder of Renzo Labs.
Renzo Basis buys an asset in the spot market and takes an equal short position through perpetual futures.
The opposing positions reduce exposure to price moves, while users earn yield from funding rates paid between perpetual futures traders.
Renzo said the product uses a hedge guard, yield guard and safety buffer to manage the automated strategy.
Renzo plans to add other Hyperliquid assets with spot and perpetual markets, expand to other DeFi venues and develop products such as autocallables and growth notes.
At the time of reporting, Hyperliquid price was $83.98.
