Privy brings programmable payments to XRP Ledger
- Privy and Ripple are partnering to support programmable wallets and payment applications on the XRP Ledger.
- The integration targets payment services and agentic commerce using XRP, RLUSD and other digital assets.
- The partnership aims to help developers build applications that automate digital asset payments.
Privy, a wallet infrastructure provider owned by Stripe, has partnered with Ripple to bring programmable wallets to the XRP Ledger (XRPL).
The integration will let developers create wallets, sign transactions and build payment applications using XRP, RLUSD and other digital assets.
“Privy brings proven wallet infrastructure that makes it easier for fintechs and developers to bring XRPL into real products, from payments and stablecoin experiences to emerging forms of agentic commerce,” RippleX Senior Vice President Markus Infanger said in a statement.
Embedded wallets can let payment companies offer stablecoin services without requiring users to manage their own private keys.
Privy also supports x402 payments, allowing software agents to hold funds and transact as part of automated commerce systems.
The XRP Ledger has more than eight million funded accounts and has processed over $1 trillion in value moved, according to Privy.
Privy plans to expand the integration with policy controls and gas sponsorship, giving developers more control over wallet transactions.
Following the update, XRP was trading down 0.2% at $1.37.
