A spokesperson for 1789 Capital said the firm is contributing about US$300 million to the funding round.

Polymarket was last valued at about US$15 billion, meaning the proposed round would lift its valuation by about 40%.

Polymarket and Kalshi allow users to trade contracts tied to outcomes across politics, entertainment and other events.

Donald Trump Jr became a Kalshi adviser in 2025 and separately advises Polymarket, according to CoinDesk.

The Trump administration has supported prediction markets, while CFTC Chairman Michael Selig has backed the companies and challenged state regulation efforts.
