  • Crypto venture capital firm Paradigm has raised US$1.2 billion for a new fund that will invest in cryptocurrency, artificial intelligence and robotics.
  • The fund expands Paradigm's investment strategy as venture capital flows increasingly favour AI alongside digital assets.
  • Paradigm said it will continue backing cryptocurrency projects while investing in emerging technologies with overlapping use cases.

Paradigm has raised US$1.2 billion for its fourth investment fund, expanding the cryptocurrency venture capital firm's strategy to include artificial intelligence, robotics and other emerging technologies.

The new fund follows more than US$4 billion raised across Paradigm's previous three cryptocurrency-focused funds, with the company broadening its investment mandate after identifying opportunities across AI and related sectors.

“We continue investing in crypto and the reinvention of markets and the financial system,” Paradigm said.

Paradigm said the fund will invest “first in crypto, and now across AI, robotics and other frontiers,” while highlighting previous investments including Hyperliquid, Kalshi, Zipline, SendCutSend and Nous Research.

The expanded strategy follows similar moves by other cryptocurrency venture firms, and as Paradigm is privately held there was no share price reaction following the announcement.

Framework Ventures recently raised a US$400 million fund covering cryptocurrency, AI, robotics and energy, while Haun Ventures raised US$1 billion earlier this year and expanded into AI investments for the first time.

According to Crunchbase, global venture capital funding reached a record US$510 billion in the first half of 2026, while AI companies accounted for more than 40% of total investment and cryptocurrency startups attracted US$10.8 billion, according to CryptoRank.
