Palantir warns Europe risks falling behind on AI
- Palantir’s European chief Louis Mosley warned that Europe risks repeating its missed opportunity during the internet boom.
- Mosley said US businesses are adopting enterprise AI faster, while European companies remain cautious about deployment.
- He argued political opposition to Palantir could distract from AI adoption across healthcare, policing and defence.
Palantir Technologies (NASDAQ:PLTR) executive Louis Mosley warned that Europe risks missing the AI opportunity, repeating its earlier failure to capitalise on the internet economy, in an interview with CoinDesk.
The company’s UK and Europe chief said the US built major internet businesses while Europe captured less value from the technology wave.
“It’s by far and away the largest European company. Which is, it tells you that the value is in tech,” according to Palantir’s Executive Vice President for the UK and Europe, Louis Mosley.
Mosley argued European businesses risk delaying AI adoption because they view unfamiliar technology as potentially risky, allowing US competitors to move faster.
He described Palantir as “the purest proxy on public markets for the rate of AI adoption in an economy,” reflecting its focus on enterprise AI deployment.
Palantir’s software connects large language models and AI agents with organisations’ data and operational systems across sectors including healthcare, industry and defence.
Mosley also pointed to political opposition linked to Palantir’s work with US immigration authorities, Israel’s military and the UK’s National Health Service.
Following the announcement, Palantir Technologies shares were down 0.02% at US$209.00.
