Ondo Finance appointed Allison Parent as chief policy officer as the company expands its tokenised-asset business and regulatory work.

Parent previously served as executive director of the Global Financial Markets Association and held senior policy roles at Barclays and the Bank of England.

“Balanced regulatory policy involves weighing growth and innovation with market integrity, consumer protection, and overall financial stability,” Parent said.

Ondo said Parent will work with policymakers and regulators worldwide as tokenised assets develop across financial markets.

Ondo's tokenised US Treasury products have about US$2 billion in total value locked, according to managing director John Hoffman.

Its tokenised stocks and exchange-traded funds platform reached US$1 billion in total value locked within eight months, Hoffman previously told The Block.

Parent previously served as general counsel to the US Senate Committee on the Budget and advised on financial legislation including the Dodd-Frank Act.
