Ondo taps Invesco veteran for tokenised portfolios

Ondo Finance has appointed former Invesco ETF executive and Grayscale managing director John Hoffman as managing director and head of product portfolios to accelerate its expansion into tokenised investment products.

Hoffman will oversee the development and distribution of tokenised portfolios, including investment baskets created with asset managers and strategies built around Ondo’s existing offerings.

“Our next step is building the world's most trusted platform for intelligently managed, onchain investment portfolios,”

Said Ondo Finance managing director and head of product portfolios, John Hoffman.

The appointment signals Ondo’s ambition to move beyond tokenised stocks and Treasury products into managed investment solutions built on blockchain infrastructure.

Hoffman said:

“It took 30 years for ETFs to go from niche product to the default vehicle,”

Adding that:

“The infrastructure is here and the next generation of portfolio products will be built onchain.”

The hiring comes as tokenisation gains momentum across traditional finance, with firms including BlackRock, Franklin Templeton, Fidelity and JPMorgan launching or testing blockchain-based investment products.

Ondo has emerged as one of the largest crypto-native tokenisation platforms, with its tokenised asset offerings helping drive more than $1 billion in total value locked across over 250 stocks and ETFs through Ondo Global Markets.

At the time of reporting, Ondo price was $0.3584.
