Ondo Finance founder Nathan Allman dies at 32

Nathan Allman, founder and chief executive of Ondo Finance, has died unexpectedly at the age of 32, the company confirmed on Monday.

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Nathan Allman, Ondo's founder,”

The company said in a statement posted on X.

Ondo said Allman played a central role in advancing blockchain tokenisation and helping bring approximately $3.86 billion worth of tokenised real-world assets on-chain, including US Treasuries, stocks and commodities.

The company said more than 111,680 token holders currently hold tokenised real-world assets issued through Ondo’s platform.

Before founding Ondo in 2021, Allman worked within Goldman Sachs’ digital assets division and also founded crypto hedge fund ChainStreet Capital focused on algorithmic and event-driven trading strategies.

Ondo said company president Ian De Bode will assume the role of chief executive following Allman’s death.

“It’s been an incredibly sad day for Ondo Finance,”

De Bode said, adding that Allman was “an incredible founder and visionary” whose mission for the company would continue.

Ondo did not provide additional details surrounding Allman’s death, while a company spokesperson said the family requested privacy during the period of mourning.
