- The platform proposes 63 stocks with 24/7 trading and blockchain settlement.
- The plan uses the SEC’s five-year Innovation Exemption for tokenised securities.
OKXICE LLC has notified the US Securities and Exchange Commission of plans for tokenised stock trading.
The joint venture between OKX and Intercontinental Exchange Inc (NYSE:ICE) plans to offer 63 US-listed stocks.
“Tokenization is gathering real momentum, and we’re beginning to see what happens when the infrastructure of traditional markets meets blockchain technology. OKX and ICE bring together deep expertise from both sides of that equation,” OKXICE co-chair Andrew Cuomo told CoinDesk.
The proposed venue would operate 24 hours daily, seven days weekly, under the SEC’s Innovation Exemption.
Tokenised shares would retain dividend and voting rights while trading through blockchain-based infrastructure.
The platform plans permissioned Uniswap v4 liquidity pools deployed on XLayer for trading and settlement.
Tokenised stocks already represent about $3.2 billion, according to RWA.xyz.
Following the announcement, ICE was down 0.8715% at $150.15.
