OKX Ventures backs RWA stablecoin with Securitise

Securitise has partnered with Hamilton Lane, OKX Ventures and stablecoin infrastructure firm STBL to launch a new real-world asset-backed stablecoin tied to institutional private credit.

The ecosystem-specific token will be issued on OKX’s X Layer network and backed by tokenised exposure to Hamilton Lane’s Senior Credit Opportunities Fund through a feeder structure facilitated by Securitise.

The firms said the product combines regulated tokenisation, programmable settlement and institutional liquidity to advance on-chain financial infrastructure.

“This initiative brings deep liquidity, programmable settlement, and compliant yield management to the X Layer ecosystem, setting a new standard for how capital flows onchain,”

STBL said in a statement.

The stablecoin will adopt a dual-token architecture that separates yield generation from the stable payment unit itself, reflecting heightened US regulatory scrutiny of stablecoins that distribute passive returns.

Under the structure, returns accrue at the collateral layer rather than being paid directly to stablecoin holders, aiming to align with emerging US market structure proposals that seek to distinguish payment instruments from investment products.

Securitise, which has tokenised more than $4 billion in assets and counts BlackRock and Morgan Stanley among its backers, said the initiative marks a further convergence between institutional private markets and blockchain-based finance.
