  • New York and Wyoming signed an agreement to coordinate virtual currency and digital asset supervision.
  • Regulators will share examination data, market trends and potential enforcement notifications.
  • The MOU also supports coordinated licensing reviews and potential joint examinations.

New York and Wyoming regulators have signed an MOU to coordinate virtual currency and digital asset oversight.

The agreement allows both regulators to share supervisory expertise and information across their jurisdictions.

“Interstate collaboration is essential for the virtual currency space,” according to Acting Superintendent Kaitlin Asrow.

The MOU coordinates licensing for entities operating or applying in both states.

Regulators will share analysis, subject-matter reviews and historical examination data during application reviews.

They will also coordinate examination schedules and work towards joint examinations for firms operating across both states.

The agreement establishes protocols for sharing supervisory reports, market trends and potential enforcement notifications.

The MOU expands interstate coordination without creating a federal digital asset oversight framework.
