MultiversX sets Supernova upgrade for September 10
- MultiversX will activate its Supernova upgrade on September 10.
- The upgrade will cut block times from six seconds to 0.6 seconds.
- The network also expects faster finality and cross-shard settlement after activation.
MultiversX (CRYPTO:EGLD) will activate its Supernova network upgrade on September 10.
The upgrade will cut block times from six seconds to 0.6 seconds, according to MultiversX.
Supernova is also expected to bring intra-shard finality below 250 milliseconds and cross-shard settlement to about 2.4 seconds.
The upgrade uses a redesigned consensus system and parallel transaction processing to improve network performance.
Validators must upgrade their nodes during the September 1 to September 10 upgrade window before activation.
MultiversX expects new transactions to queue for about 24 minutes while the network switches to the faster system.
The upgrade could improve transaction speeds for applications such as gaming, trading and payments, although adoption will depend on network activity.
