The proposal builds on the company's Bitcoin treasury strategy as it looks for new ways to generate returns from its growing holdings.
Metaplanet said the bonds would use its Bitcoin reserves as collateral, although details including the launch date and final structure have not been announced.
The company said the product could attract investors seeking Bitcoin exposure with regular income, and following the announcement the Metaplanet share price was unchanged.
The latest proposal reflects the company's wider plan to build new financial products around Bitcoin as institutional interest in digital assets grows.
