Meanwhile, a Bitcoin-denominated life insurer, has raised $37.5 million from existing investors, bringing total funding above $180 million.

Bain Capital Crypto led the round, joined by Haun Ventures, Framework Ventures, Pantera Capital and other existing backers.

“Brokers came to us because their clients kept asking. This round lets us keep up with them,” said Meanwhile co-founder and CEO Zac Townsend.

Meanwhile launched BTC Life 1-Pay in early 2026, targeting high-net-worth clients outside the United States.

The policy lets clients pay one premium in Bitcoin (BTC) and receive a lifetime death benefit denominated in BTC.

Meanwhile has signed 15 brokers serving wealthy families across insurance hubs including Singapore, Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates and Switzerland.

The insurer’s reserves and audited financial statements are denominated in Bitcoin, with policyholder assets held by regulated institutional custodians.

The funding will support Meanwhile’s international growth as demand rises for life insurance products designed around Bitcoin wealth.
