US Senator Cynthia Lummis said the Senate Banking Committee may postpone its hearing on the crypto market structure bill scheduled for Thursday.
Lummis told Bloomberg the potential delay was linked to unresolved disagreements among lawmakers.
The hearing was expected to include a vote on whether the bill should advance.
Lawmakers on the Banking Committee remain divided, particularly over language related to stablecoin yields.
Coinbase has withdrawn its support for the bill, although this is not expected to determine the hearing’s outcome.
Sources said the lack of consensus among senators is the primary factor behind the possible postponement.
Several Republicans, including Senator Thom Tillis, have raised concerns about provisions covering stablecoin returns.
The Senate Banking Committee has not officially confirmed whether the hearing will go ahead as planned.
