Interactive Brokers adds Ethereum staking for clients

Interactive Brokers Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:IBKR) has launched cryptocurrency staking, allowing eligible clients to earn rewards on supported digital assets.

Eligible Interactive Brokers LLC clients can stake Ethereum (ETH) through the Staking Dashboard in the Client Portal.

“Staking gives clients an opportunity to earn rewards on the cryptocurrency they own,” according to Interactive Brokers Chief Executive Officer Milan Galik.

The service lets clients submit staking and unstaking requests, monitor pending activity and receive earned rewards as additional staked cryptocurrency.

Rewards can compound while the position remains staked, although the announcement does not specify a guaranteed return rate.

Zerohash provides the staking service, extending Interactive Brokers’ existing cryptocurrency offering within its multi-asset brokerage platform.

The broker supports trading in 20 digital assets and allows eligible clients to transfer supported cryptocurrencies between the platform and external wallets.

Following the announcement, Interactive Brokers shares were down 0.46% at US$87.49.
