Iggy Azalea faces lawsuit over MOTHER memecoin
Iggy Azalea is facing a US class-action lawsuit alleging she misled investors about the utility and development of her memecoin Mother Iggy (MOTHER).
The complaint, filed in a Manhattan federal court, claims Azalea promoted the token as having real-world use cases and business integrations that failed to materialise.
“Those representations were limited, incomplete, contradicted, temporary, or not delivered in a durable way,”
The complaint said.
The lawsuit centres on claims that MOTHER was marketed as part of an ecosystem including telecom services, an online casino, and other ventures that did not deliver meaningful token utility.
It also alleges the MOTHERLAND casino used Tether (USDt) instead of MOTHER for transactions and that no visible payment integration existed with Unreal Mobile despite promotions.
The token, launched in May 2024, peaked at a market value above $136 million before falling to around $1.3 million, highlighting sharp losses for investors.
The case also claims Azalea failed to disclose details around trading support arrangements involving market makers Wintermute and DWF Labs as the lawsuit seeks damages for affected token holders.
At the time of reporting, Mother Iggy price was $0.001344.
