IG Europe expands crypto trading with Bitpanda

IG Group partnered with Bitpanda to expand spot cryptocurrency trading services for investors across Europe.

The agreement will allow IG Europe to use Bitpanda’s infrastructure for crypto liquidity, trading connectivity and market data as the company broadens its digital asset offering beyond the United Kingdom.

IG Europe managing director Esteve Jane said the partnership would expand the platform’s investment products while providing investors with secure access to additional asset classes under regulated frameworks.

The expansion follows IG’s launch of spot crypto trading in the UK during 2025, though the company has not yet confirmed a timeline for the broader European rollout.

The partnership also reflects the growing impact of Europe’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation framework, which has introduced stricter compliance requirements around custody, governance, capital standards and risk management for crypto service providers.

IG Group, a London-listed FTSE 100 trading company with roughly 1.3 million global clients, reported quarterly revenue of 331.2 million pounds ($444.5 million), though spot crypto contributed only about $3.2 million during the period.

Meanwhile, Bitpanda continues expanding its broader financial services business, including the development of Vision Chain, an Ethereum layer-2 network designed for tokenised financial assets, alongside plans for a potential public listing later this year.
