Ice Open Network pushes DApps adoption with ION rollout

Ice Open Network is entering a pivotal phase as it expands its blockchain ecosystem.

The project is transitioning from its original ICE token to the new ION token.

Leadership says the shift reflects a broader focus on decentralised applications usability.

Chief executive Alexandru Iulian Florea discussed the strategy during a recent AMA session.

He said mainstream adoption depends on familiar and intuitive user experiences.

Florea described ION as deliberately designed to feel Web2 friendly on the surface.

The project originally began as a mobile mining application.

Early traction helped shape the development of a layer one blockchain.

Florea said the app reached one million users within its first week.

User numbers reportedly climbed to around thirty million within seven months.

This growth formed the base for building ION’s DApp framework.

Online+ was launched as the flagship social application on ION.

The app is positioned as a full social platform rather than a crypto interface.

Familiar social features are combined with privacy focused cryptographic controls.

Users retain ownership of their data through action level signing.

Early metrics show Online+ exceeded one point three million users quickly.

Average daily usage reportedly exceeds fifteen minutes per user.

Daily unique users have surpassed one hundred thousand on peak days.

Monetisation was highlighted as a major design priority.

Florea said creators generate most value but often receive limited rewards.

Online+ distributes revenue through ads subscriptions swaps and community activity.

Tokenised communities allow creators to issue and manage their own tokens.

The system includes token buybacks and onchain transparency.

The AMA also covered PumpIt a browser extension for token creation.

PumpIt allows social posts to be tokenised directly within feeds.

AI tools generate ticker names images and metadata automatically.

ICE token migration to ION is being handled directly inside Online+.

Exchanges were asked to delist ICE to concentrate activity internally.

Florea said the move prioritises long term cohesion over short term convenience.

The rollout followed a staged activation process.

Future plans include no code tools for launching custom apps.

Florea said this could allow app launches within an hour by 2026.
