IBM (NYSE:IBM) has expanded Digital Asset Haven with Swift ledger integration and on-premises capabilities.
The beta lets financial institutions connect to Swift’s blockchain-based shared ledger for tokenised deposits.
“The financial services industry is entering a new era where tokenized and traditional assets will need to move side by side,” said Tom McPherson, General Manager, IBM Z and LinuxONE.
IBM’s ISO 20022 Messaging Adapter lets institutions instruct tokenised deposit transactions through existing payment messaging standards.
Swift’s ledger supports bank-issued tokenised deposits and enables digital asset transfers around the clock.
The Swift ledger was developed with more than 40 financial institutions and is being piloted by 17 institutions.
IBM also expanded Digital Asset Haven to on-premises deployment across IBM Z and IBM LinuxONE environments.
Following the announcement, IBM shares were down 2.45% at $227.06.
