Greece adds four MiCA providers as Binance withdraws
- Four Greek providers have entered the EU’s MiCA register.
- Binance withdrew its Greek MiCA application on June 24.
- HCMC rejected reported claims linking ECB President Christine Lagarde to Binance’s application.
Four Greek providers have entered the EU’s MiCA register for the first time.
BCash, Xenios Blockchain Group, Capital Wallet Greece and Piraeus Bank joined the register.
The additions came as Binance withdrew its Greek MiCA application on June 24.
The Wall Street Journal reported that European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde intervened against Binance’s application.
HCMC rejected the report, saying no official made the reported remarks or contacted ECB officials.
Binance declined to address the reported intervention, describing the claims as speculation while reaffirming its European regulatory plans.
The four Greek providers operate under different competent authorities within Greece’s MiCA framework.
Binance is now pursuing MiCA authorisation in another EU member state.
