Grayscale Investments has launched a Bitcoin covered call exchange-traded fund (ETF) designed to generate income by selling call options linked to spot Bitcoin ETFs.
The fund gives investors exposure to Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) while aiming to earn regular income from options premiums instead of relying only on price gains.
“There is growing demand for income-focused Bitcoin investment strategies,” Grayscale said.
The ETF uses a covered call strategy, which involves selling call options against Bitcoin ETF holdings to generate additional income for investors.
Covered call strategies can provide higher income when markets are stable, but they may limit gains if Bitcoin's price rises sharply.
Grayscale has continued expanding its crypto investment products as institutional investors seek a wider range of regulated digital asset strategies.
The launch reflects growing demand for crypto investment products that combine Bitcoin exposure with income generation through traditional financial tools.
At the time of reporting, Bitcoin price was $64,599.38.
