Gemini launches AI agent trading feature
Crypto exchange Gemini has launched an AI-powered Agentic Trading feature, enabling automated trading directly through a regulated US platform.
The system allows users to connect AI models such as ChatGPT and Claude to execute trades, ranging from simple orders to complex multi-leg strategies.
The feature runs on the Model Context Protocol, giving AI agents direct API access to Gemini’s trading infrastructure and full exchange functionality.
“We believe we're at the beginning of a fundamental shift in how people interact with financial markets,”
Gemini said, adding that agentic trading allows AI to handle execution while users focus on strategy.
The platform includes pre-built Trading Skills modules for real-time market data, bid-ask spread analysis, and historical price retrieval, streamlining automated decision-making.
The launch follows Gemini’s recent restructuring, including workforce cuts and a renewed focus on AI-driven efficiency within its US operations.
The move highlights a broader trend of integrating AI with crypto markets, as firms explore automated trading, machine-driven payments, and smarter financial infrastructure.
