Galaxy estimates Coldcard hack losses at 1,789 BTC

Galaxy Research estimates the Coldcard hack stole 1,789.28 Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) from 8,865 addresses.

The stolen Bitcoin was worth $114.7 million when the thefts occurred, according to Galaxy's latest tally.

Galaxy said attackers have not spent 1,561 Bitcoin, representing 87.3% of the attributed losses.

The unmoved funds remain in attacker-controlled addresses, including all Bitcoin stolen during the first three attack waves.

Some Bitcoin from later attacks has moved through CoinJoin transactions, peel chains and other methods that can hide transaction links.

Galaxy's tally includes 221 victim reports covering 790.72 Bitcoin, equal to 44.2% of the estimated total losses.

Galaxy said it has shared identified attacker addresses with exchanges, compliance firms and law enforcement to help freeze funds.

At the time of reporting, Bitcoin price was $78,753.86.
