Galaxy Digital and MARA Holdings have expanded their Texas land holdings to support AI computing and Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) mining facilities.
The acquisitions increase the companies' capacity as demand grows for data centres that support artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency mining.
Galaxy said the additional land strengthens its long-term data centre strategy, while MARA said the sites support future infrastructure growth.
The companies plan to develop the properties for high-performance computing and Bitcoin mining, subject to construction and regulatory approvals.
The land purchases expand both companies' infrastructure plans, and following the announcement Galaxy shares were unchanged at about US$31.20, while MARA shares were up about 1% at US$19.80.
Bitcoin miners have increasingly expanded into AI computing as they seek new sources of revenue from existing energy and data centre assets.
Texas has become a major location for AI and Bitcoin infrastructure because of its energy resources, available land and growing data centre industry.
At the time of reporting, Bitcoin price was $64,473.07.
