Crypto PAC Fairshake scores primary election wins

Crypto-backed political action committee Fairshake and its affiliates secured a series of victories in US state primaries after spending roughly $20 million supporting candidates across Georgia, Alabama and Kentucky.

The PAC, funded largely by Ripple Labs and Coinbase, backed Republican candidates through Defend American Jobs and Democratic candidates through Protect Progress in races viewed as important for crypto policy.

“Fairshake’s 6-0 sweep tonight was a clear victory for pro-crypto leaders across the country,”

Said Fairshake spokesperson, Geoff Vetter.

Protect Progress spent more than $4.2 million supporting Georgia Democrat Jasmine Clark, while Defend American Jobs spent millions backing Republican candidates including Andy Barr and Barry Moore.

Five crypto-backed candidates won their primaries outright, while Moore advanced to a runoff election in Alabama after no candidate secured a majority of votes.

Fairshake previously said it planned to deploy significant capital in the 2026 midterm elections to support pro-crypto politicians and oppose lawmakers viewed as hostile toward digital asset legislation.

The PAC reported a $193 million war chest earlier this year, exceeding the estimated $130 million it spent supporting congressional candidates during the 2024 election cycle, though recent losses in some races showed crypto spending does not always guarantee electoral success.
