Large holders of Ethena (CRYPTO:ENA) have withdrawn approximately US$102 million worth of ENA tokens from cryptocurrency exchanges, reducing the amount of the token immediately available for trading.
The movement has prompted market observers to suggest that near-term selling pressure may be easing, although exchange outflows alone do not guarantee a change in price direction.
Analysts cited by the report said reduced exchange balances can indicate that investors intend to hold tokens for longer periods rather than sell them immediately, but they noted that broader market conditions remain an important factor.
The report also noted that ENA's future performance will depend on sustained demand, trading activity and overall sentiment across the cryptocurrency market.
Ethena is a decentralised finance protocol that issues the USDe synthetic dollar and uses ENA as its governance token.
Large transfers by so-called whale investors are closely monitored because they can influence market liquidity and investor sentiment, although they do not necessarily predict future price movements.
At the time of reporting, Ethena price was $0.07823.
