DOJ seizes $560K in Hamas-linked crypto

The US Justice Department said it seized more than US$560,000 in cryptocurrency intended for Hamas.

The FBI also took control of domains and servers used by the Al-Qassam Brigades to collect donations and recruit supporters.

The seizures followed three cryptocurrency warrants issued in March, June and October 2025, according to the department.

Investigators used human sources to identify rotating crypto addresses shared through an encrypted group chat and fundraising website.

One seizure recovered about US$201,400 from wallets and accounts linked to a system that had moved more than US$1.5 million since October 2024.

The FBI's takeover of Alqassam.ps allowed investigators to intercept further cryptocurrency donations, according to the Justice Department.

The operation also provided information on thousands of people who contacted Hamas-linked platforms to donate using cryptocurrency or traditional payment methods.
