Dimon praises Revolut growth and attacks crypto bill

JPMorgan Chase Chief Executive Officer Jamie Dimon praised the growth and execution speed of digital banking platform Revolut while simultaneously criticising proposed US crypto legislation that could benefit stablecoin issuers and digital asset firms.

Speaking about JPMorgan's UK operations, Dimon acknowledged Revolut's rapid expansion, saying the fintech company had outpaced many traditional banking competitors through its ability to move quickly and launch products efficiently.

“I’m jealous, damn it. You watch these people. They move,”

Said JPMorgan Chase Chief Executive Officer, Jamie Dimon.

Revolut reported revenue of $6 billion in 2025, up 46% from the previous year, while pretax profit rose 57% to $2.3 billion as the company benefited from strong growth across multiple business lines, including crypto-related services.

“It will be fought. Don’t bow down to this guy or company,”

Dimon said, referring to support for the crypto-focused CLARITY Act and comments directed at Coinbase Chief Executive Officer Brian Armstrong.

Dimon argues that stablecoin issuers should not be permitted to offer yield-bearing products without complying with the same capital, liquidity and consumer protection requirements imposed on traditional banks.

The debate comes as lawmakers consider crypto market structure reforms and stablecoin legislation, with banking industry groups seeking tighter restrictions on stablecoin issuers before any final Senate vote.

Revolut now serves more than 75 million customers globally and continues expanding its crypto and wealth offerings, highlighting the growing competitive pressure fintech firms are placing on established financial institutions.
