Crypto PACs deploy $7.2M in key races
Political action committees linked to crypto-backed Fairshake spent roughly $7.2 million supporting congressional and Senate candidates in Georgia, Alabama, Nebraska, Kentucky and Texas ahead of crucial US primary elections.
Fairshake affiliate Protect Progress disclosed about $1.6 million in media spending backing Democrat Jasmine Clark in Georgia’s 13th Congressional District and Christian Menefee in Texas’ 18th Congressional District.
Protect Progress also pledged $1.5 million opposing Texas Representative Al Green, claiming the long-serving congressman was “actively hostile towards a growing Texas crypto community”.
Republican-focused Fairshake affiliate Defend American Jobs reported spending approximately $5.6 million across races in Georgia, Nebraska, Alabama and Kentucky, with Kentucky Senate candidate Andy Barr receiving more than $3.5 million in advertising support due to his pro-crypto policy positions in Congress.
“I do think it is critically important that every single member of Congress have a position on crypto, it’s part of their election campaign and their platform, and voters are going to be paying attention to this,”
Said Cody Carbone.
Fairshake, which reportedly held $193 million in January, has already poured millions into media campaigns during the 2026 election cycle after spending more than $130 million supporting or opposing candidates during the 2024 elections.
The crypto industry’s political spending push also coincides with congressional debate over the CLARITY Act and stablecoin legislation, with lawmakers viewing digital asset regulation as a potential deciding issue in the 2026 US midterm elections.
