Crypto PAC backs 10 candidates for midterms
The Blockchain Leadership Fund, a crypto-backed political action committee launched by Anchorage Digital and Chainlink Labs, endorsed 10 candidates for the 2026 US midterm elections.
The hybrid PAC said it would support four Senate candidates and six House candidates across several states as the crypto industry ramps up political spending ahead of key congressional races.
The committee’s endorsed candidates include Republicans Barry Moore, Kurt Alme and Jon Husted for Senate races in Alabama, Montana and Ohio, alongside Democrat Angie Craig in Minnesota, while House endorsements span Georgia, Texas, Maryland and North Carolina.
“We believe constructive bipartisan participation is critical to ensuring the US remains a global leader in financial technology and the future of finance,”
Said an Anchorage Digital spokesperson.
Federal Election Commission filings showed the Blockchain Leadership Fund had raised $175,000 as of Thursday, including $100,000 from Anchorage and $75,000 from Chainlink, though affiliated crypto PACs have already spent millions supporting several endorsed candidates.
The endorsements followed successful primaries for some candidates this week, including Republican victories by Jim Kingston and Houston Gaines in Georgia, while Barry Moore advanced to a Senate runoff in Alabama after failing to secure a majority vote.
Crypto industry spending is also intensifying in Texas, where Fellowship PAC, backed by Cantor Fitzgerald and Anchorage Digital, disclosed plans to spend $500,000 supporting Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in his Senate primary race after receiving backing from Donald Trump.
