Core DAO is coordinating an emergency hard fork after some validators received more CORE (CRYPTO:CORE) rewards than intended.

Core said the issue had been contained and that the validators could no longer claim excess rewards, while user assets remained safe.

The network said the incident was limited to reward issuance and that it would publish a technical postmortem explaining what happened.

Several exchanges restricted CORE transfers, with Coinbase pausing sends and receives while Bithumb and Coinone suspended deposits and withdrawals.

Bitget also suspended CORE deposits and withdrawals, while LBank suspended deposits following the incident, according to Cointelegraph.

Core DAO has not disclosed the amount of excess CORE issued, how long the activity lasted or whether additional tokens entered circulation, leaving key details unresolved until its technical postmortem.
