Coinbase Global has launched Coinbase Payments, allowing businesses to accept USD Coin (CRYPTO:USDC) payments from AI agents through an integrated checkout system.
The service combines Shopify's checkout platform, Coinbase's Base blockchain and USDC to support automated digital payments as AI-powered commerce continues to expand.
Coinbase said the platform includes payment authorisation, stablecoin settlement and merchant integration tools designed for businesses accepting payments from AI agents.
Coinbase said the service is intended to simplify AI-driven commerce, while Coinbase Global shares were unchanged following the announcement.
The company has expanded Base as its Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH) layer-2 network while increasing the use of USDC across consumer and business payment services.
Coinbase has continued adding products that support stablecoin payments as businesses explore AI applications for online transactions.
