Coinbase and Chainlink have expanded their partnership to deliver institutional-grade market data onchain, giving developers access to exchange-level data previously limited to centralised systems.

The integration uses Chainlink’s Datalink service to publish Coinbase data including order books, spot prices, futures, and commodities datasets onto blockchain networks.

“This collaboration reflects our commitment to offering flexible, innovative products that help clients engage with digital assets in more sophisticated ways,”

Said Coinbase Markets vice president, Liz Martin.

The move enables decentralised finance platforms, derivatives protocols, and tokenised asset products to build using more reliable and institution-quality pricing data.

Chainlink provides the infrastructure layer, handling data delivery, security, and decentralisation so developers can integrate high-quality data without managing backend systems.

The partnership builds on earlier collaborations, including Coinbase’s use of Chainlink’s cross-chain interoperability protocol for wrapped assets and blockchain bridges.

The integration reflects growing convergence between traditional finance and DeFi, as demand rises for accurate data to support tokenised assets and complex onchain financial products.
