Coachella has partnered with Google DeepMind to test new artificial intelligence tools aimed at transforming live entertainment experiences.

The collaboration produced three experimental projects, including 3D recreations of live performances, a stage design tool for artists, and a mobile game tied to festival content.

“We engaged in this project where we're working with their tools to explore what are the ways that these tools can extend and expand an artist's canvas,”

Said Coachella innovation production lead, Ryan Cenicola.

One prototype captures live shows and converts them into interactive 3D environments, allowing fans to explore performances from different perspectives and potentially creating long-term digital archives.

Another tool enables artists to simulate stage designs using prompts and visuals, offering smaller acts access to production capabilities typically reserved for larger performers.

The third project, a mobile game, lets fans explore virtual worlds inspired by festival artists, extending engagement beyond the physical event.

The AI initiatives build on Coachella’s previous experiments with NFTs, AR, and blockchain, though the current tools remain in early testing with no confirmed public rollout timeline.
