Chris Larsen XRP wallets reactivate before Texas runoff
Chris Larsen-linked XRP wallets resumed on-chain activity ahead of Tuesday’s Texas Democratic primary runoff election, according to blockchain tracking data.
Larsen, executive chairman of Ripple Labs, is estimated to control approximately 2.58 billion XRP across eight wallets monitored through XRPScan, representing one of the largest known individual cryptocurrency holdings.
At current XRP prices near $1.35, the wallets collectively hold an estimated value of roughly $3.5 billion.
The renewed wallet activity has drawn attention because Larsen-linked addresses previously transferred large amounts of XRP during key market and political periods throughout 2025.
In January 2025, dormant Larsen-linked wallets reportedly moved more than $109 million worth of XRP to exchanges including Coinbase, Bitstamp and Bybit after remaining inactive for several years.
Blockchain investigator ZachXBT also reported additional Larsen-linked XRP transfers worth roughly $140 million in July 2025 while XRP traded near record highs above $3.40.
Current on-chain data has not confirmed whether the latest wallet movements involve exchange transfers, internal restructuring or other custodial activity, and Larsen had not publicly commented at the time of publication.
The timing has also attracted attention as crypto legislation including the Clarity Act continues advancing through Congress, with XRP remaining closely tied to broader US regulatory developments affecting Ripple and digital asset classification debates.
At the time of reporting, XRP price was $1.34.
