Trade Data Hasn't Caught Up With Trump Policy Changes, Says Peter Harrell

Peter Harrell, former White House senior director for international economics in the Biden Administration and visiting scholar at Georgetown, said President Trump has not brought tariff rates back to their original rate because war with Iran has driven energy prices higher. Harrell also said that while US trade and investment policy has changed, the data coming into the administration and out to the public has not yet caught up and it remains an question what the impact of these changes will be.

DOJ's Dhillon on Election Security, Working With Trump

Assistant US Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon says the Department of Justice is part of the executive branch and reports to the president. She says it's "ludicrous" to think the DOJ should be independent. She also says the DOJ will be deploying 1,000 monitors to make sure the midterm elections are secure.
