Tariffs Could Bring Canada Auto "To Its Knees"

President Trump vowed this week to hike tariffs on Canadian cars, trucks, automotive parts, and steel to 50% at the start of next year as part of an ongoing trade war threat with the country. Linda Hasenfratz, Executive Chair of Linamar, says that after decades of free trade in automotives between he US and Canada, the implementation of such high tariffs would "cripple the industry."

Employers Abandon Group Insurance as Price Hikes Bite

As US employers brace for the largest price hikes on employee health plans in 15 years, a growing number are opting out of group insurance altogether. Instead of providing medical benefits directly, more than 20,000 companies entered Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRA) in 2026.
