Cardano (CRYPTO:ADA) founder Charles Hoskinson defended the use of AI-generated content after criticism of a recent social media post, saying AI agents will play an important role in the development of Midnight City.

The comments came after an AI-generated influencer created by the Midnight City team was shared on the Input Output X account as part of experiments designed to demonstrate emerging AI capabilities.

“We're going to need agents and AI to be able to organise and sort all that out and broadcast on a regular basis what's going on in Midnight City,” said Input Output founder Charles Hoskinson.

Hoskinson said the project is exploring AI-driven community management, broadcasting and engagement tools as Midnight City continues development as an interactive simulation platform for the Midnight Network.

He also said features such as agentic trading and affiliate relationships could help attract a larger user base to the platform, while adding that the project is integrating multiple AI standards as part of its development strategy.

Midnight City is designed to model a digital society where autonomous AI agents can work, trade and generate economic activity while allowing users to view transactions through public, auditor and regulatory perspectives.

Hoskinson also highlighted OpenClaw, an open-source AI agent platform, and said the growing scale of online communities is creating a need for AI systems that can support communication, organisation and content distribution.

At the time of reporting, Cardano price was $0.159.
