BNB Chain activates 3-part security upgrade
- BNB Chain activated the Pasteur hard fork on BNB Smart Chain (CRYPTO:BNB), targeting bridge security and higher capacity.
- Tests showed an 88% throughput increase, from 1,237 to 2,324 transactions per second.
- The upgrade keeps the 450-millisecond block time and 100-million gas limit unchanged.
BNB Chain (CRYPTO:BNB) activated the Pasteur hard fork on BNB Smart Chain, strengthening bridge and validator security.
The upgrade combines three BNB Evolution Proposals covering bridge checks, validator controls and block building.
The new system prevents duplicate validator entries, removes old validator key authority and blocks restricted addresses from voting.
A new block-building route lets builders submit blocks they have already executed, reducing repeated work by validators.
In internal QANet tests, the route increased throughput by about 88%, from 1,237 to 2,324 transactions per second.
Average gas used per block rose from 46.35 million to 84.15 million, while the block interval and gas limit stayed unchanged.
BNB Chain said the figures came from controlled testing rather than mainnet measurements, while Pasteur is now live on BSC mainnet.
At the time of reporting, BNB price was $716.89.
