BlackRock fund receives S&P’s top AAAm rating

S&P Global Ratings assigned BlackRock BRSRV its highest AAAm principal stability fund rating after the fund launched Monday.

S&P cited BRSRV’s investments, counterparties, maturity structure and BlackRock’s ability to maintain a stable net asset value.

S&P identified “no weaknesses” in its qualitative assessment of BlackRock’s management, credit analysis, risk management and compliance.

BRSRV will hold cash, Treasurys maturing within 93 days and overnight repurchase agreements secured by Treasury instruments.

The fund targets a maximum 60-day weighted average maturity and 120-day weighted average life while using whitelisted wallets for transactions.

BRSRV seeks to structure its shares as eligible reserve assets for payment stablecoin issuers under the US GENIUS Act.

Separately, S&P rates Tether (CRYPTO:USDT) at 5, or “weak,” while USD Coin (CRYPTO:USDC) holds a 2, or “strong,” assessment.
