Bitwise launches tokenised stock portfolios
- Bitwise launched automated portfolios built from Coinbase's tokenised US stocks for eligible non-US investors.
- The portfolios cover major technology stocks, artificial intelligence and robotics themes.
- Investors keep the tokenised stocks in their own wallets while Glider handles automatic rebalancing.
Bitwise Asset Management launched Automated Token Portfolios using Coinbase's tokenised US stocks for eligible non-US investors.
The portfolios let investors hold individual tokenised shares in crypto wallets instead of buying a pooled fund.
“For over a century, getting a professional model meant handing your assets to a fund,” said Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan.
The initial portfolios cover the Magnificent Seven, artificial intelligence and robotics, with the first basket also including SpaceX.
Bitwise charges a 0.15% methodology fee, while the products are initially limited to eligible investors outside the United States.
Coinbase Global shares closed at $187.16 on August 25, up 4.28% from the previous session, although the sources do not link the move to Bitwise's launch.
The launch expands Bitwise's work beyond crypto ETFs, while Coinbase had introduced tokenised versions of Apple, Nvidia, Meta and Alphabet on Base one day earlier.
