BitMine has increased its staked Ether (CRYPTO:ETH) holdings to approximately 4.88 million ETH, representing about 86% of its total Ethereum treasury ahead of its inclusion in the Russell 1000 Index.
The latest staking transaction follows the company's June 22 portfolio update, which reported holdings of 5,672,956 ETH, 205 Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC), US$601 million in cash and marketable securities, investments in Beast Industries and Eightco Holdings, and no outstanding debt.
“Over the past week, we acquired 52,203 ETH,” said BitMine Chairman Tom Lee.
BitMine previously reported staking 4,718,677 ETH as of June 21 and estimated annualised staking revenue of approximately US$223 million, while stating that fully staking its Ether holdings could generate higher rewards through validator operations and external partners.
The company is scheduled to join the Russell 1000 Index after the market closes on June 26, a move that could increase visibility among institutional investors and index-tracking funds, although it does not guarantee additional investment flows.
BitMine has built the largest publicly listed Ethereum treasury and has stated that it aims to increase its holdings to approximately 5% of Ethereum's total supply during 2026.
The company's strategy links its balance sheet, staking income and preferred share dividend programme to Ethereum, leaving its financial performance closely tied to changes in ETH prices and broader cryptocurrency market conditions.
At the time of reporting, Ethereum price was $1,568.11.
