Bitcoin weekly RSI hits highest level since Oct 2025

Share
  • Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) rallied approximately 25% last week, briefly breaking above US$80,000, with the weekly Relative Strength Index rising to 58.3 — its highest reading since Bitcoin's all-time high of US$126,200 was recorded in October 2025.
  • The weekly RSI has formed a bullish divergence pattern, where Bitcoin's price was making lower lows whilst the weekly RSI formed higher lows — a structure that mirrors the pattern observed at the 2022 bear market bottom.
  • Jamie Coutts, chief crypto analyst at Real Vision, noted that weekly-level bullish RSI divergences are highly valuable indicators for assessing long-term trend inflection points, with similar historical signals typically followed by further price gains.

Bitcoin's (CRYPTO:BTC) daily RSI climbed to 82.93, its highest reading since November 2024, placing the asset in overbought territory on the shorter timeframe and prompting caution from some traders about near-term pullback risk.

Some analysts counter that RSI readings above the 70 overbought threshold are not unusual during historical bull market phases, and that sustained overbought conditions on daily charts are a feature rather than a warning sign during strong uptrends.

Bitcoin's (CRYPTO:BTC) two-month Stochastic RSI recently formed a golden cross — a configuration where the faster Stochastic line crosses above the slower signal line — which is considered a potential bullish signal for a trend shift.

However, the Stochastic RSI only reached a low of 4.81 in the most recent cycle, failing to reach the near-zero levels typically observed before historical bear market bottoms, leaving analysts divided on whether the current rally represents the official end of the macro bear market or a significant countertrend move within it.

Market participants are monitoring whether Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) can sustain and build upon the US$80,000 breakout level to confirm the bullish divergence signals on the weekly chart, or whether near-term overbought conditions on the daily timeframe lead to a consolidation or pullback before the next leg higher.

At the time of reporting, Bitcoin price was $79,419.29.
