Bitcoin long-term holdings reach record high
- Bitcoin held by long-term investors reached a record high, which Swan Bitcoin CEO Cory Klippsten said has historically coincided with market cycle lows.
- The milestone comes as analysts remain divided on when Bitcoin will reach its next price bottom, with regulatory uncertainty also weighing on sentiment.
- Market participants are closely watching the CLARITY Act and continued institutional accumulation for signals on Bitcoin's next move.
Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) held by long-term investors reached a record high of 14.7 million BTC, with Swan Bitcoin CEO Cory Klippsten saying the trend has historically coincided with market cycle lows.
The record accumulation contrasts with forecasts from other analysts, including Lebit Mining Pool founder Jiang Zhuoer, who said Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) could bottom between October and December 2026 after Strategy approaches a similar cycle low in its multiple-to-net-asset-value ratio.
“We're at an all-time high of BTC held in addresses of long-term holders,” said Swan Bitcoin CEO Cory Klippsten.
According to Glassnode, long-term holder supply reached a record level, while Coinglass data showed investors holding Bitcoin for at least 155 days increased their combined holdings by about 14% from 14.6 million BTC in November 2025 to 16.65 million BTC.
Analysts said long-term accumulation reflects continued investor conviction, while regulatory uncertainty surrounding the CLARITY Act could still influence market sentiment, and as the announcement relates to market analysis there was no share price reaction to report.
Grayscale Head of Research Zach Pandl said delays to the CLARITY Act could prompt Strategy and other corporate Bitcoin holders to continue reducing leverage, while Galaxy Digital lowered its estimate of the bill becoming law in 2026 to 50%.
The CLARITY Act is scheduled for a 17 July committee hearing in the US House of Representatives, with lawmakers considering legislation that would establish a regulatory framework for digital assets in the United States.
At the time of reporting, Bitcoin price was $58,792.03.
