Bitcoin futures traders turn slightly bearish

Share
  • Bitcoin futures positions show a narrow shift towards shorts across three major exchanges.
  • Short positions account for 51.53%, compared with 48.47% for longs.
  • The small gap suggests caution, rather than a strong bearish market signal.

Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) perpetual futures traders are showing a slight shift towards short positions.

Data from Binance, OKX and Bybit shows 51.53% of positions are short, against 48.47% long.

Binance has the largest short share at 52.25%, while OKX has 51.71% and Bybit has 51.49%.

These figures show the share of open positions, rather than the dollar value of each position.

The gap remains small, with less than three percentage points separating longs and shorts across each exchange.

Funding rates and open interest can provide more context, but the current data alone does not predict Bitcoin's next move.

The figures suggest cautious positioning among futures traders, although market positions can change quickly.

At the time of reporting, Bitcoin price was $76,853.83.
