Bitcoin ETF investors face losses near $80K level

Bitcoin exchange-traded fund investors remain under pressure despite renewed institutional demand, with average unrealised losses of about $5,174 per holder.

Bitcoin recently climbed to $76,000, its highest level since early February, supported by a recovery in US spot ETF inflows following heavy outflows earlier in the year.

“A spot close above $79,962 combined with sustained ETF net inflow above +2,000 BTC per day would signal a regime change,”

Said analyst Axel Adler Jr.

ETF flows have shifted from negative territory in mid-February to positive momentum, with the seven-day average reaching around +1,472 BTC per day after peaking earlier this month.

During the recovery, total ETF holdings increased by roughly 26,600 BTC, marking a 2% rise and signalling a return of institutional demand.

However, the average realised price for ETF investors sits near $79,962, creating a key resistance level as many holders approach break-even and may look to sell.

Analysts warn this dynamic could slow Bitcoin’s upward momentum near $80,000 unless fresh demand is strong enough to absorb potential selling pressure.

At the time of reporting, Bitcoin price was $73,871.67.
