Binance warns iPhone users over FomoPeek malware

• Users who installed affected versions have been urged to move assets to wallets created on clean devices.

Binance has warned iPhone and iPad users about FomoPeek versions 1.1 and 1.2 after security researchers linked the app to stolen crypto assets.

SlowMist and OKX have found two malicious modules in the affected versions, including an iOS kernel exploit framework with eight attack methods.

The exploit can escape the iOS sandbox and access Keychain data, potentially exposing private keys, seed phrases, login credentials and files.

FomoPeek version 1.1 introduced the malicious modules on September 9, while version 1.2 retained them after its September 12 release.

Version 1.3 has removed the two modules after their presence was identified.

The affected versions have been distributed through Apple's official App Store rather than only through third-party or sideloaded downloads.

Users who installed or used FomoPeek 1.1 or 1.2 have been advised to create new wallets on devices that have never had the app installed and move their assets.
