Anchorage Digital has cut 17% of its workforce, according to an exclusive report by The Information.

The federally chartered digital-asset bank had about 400 employees globally in February.

That headcount would put the reported reduction at roughly 68 roles.

The cuts come as crypto markets remain below their peaks from last year, according to The Information.

Anchorage provides crypto custody and stablecoin issuance services for institutional clients.

The company became the first crypto firm to receive a national trust charter in 2021.

It also issues stablecoins including Tether’s USAT and Western Union’s USDPT.

Following the report, Anchorage Digital had not publicly confirmed the workforce reduction.
